Cuba and Vietnam call for stronger economic ties
The Cuba-Vietnam Business Forum, held Wednesday in Havana, confirms the willingness of both parties to strengthen existing bonds of friendship and cooperation, and boost economic ties.
The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba, Orlando Hernandez stressed the potentials for the development of links in sectors such as health, biotechnology, agrifood, tourism, construction, information technology and communications.
Vo Tan Thanh, vice-president of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, speaking at the forum, agreed on the close relations between the two nations.
During the meeting, which included a presentation on the Mariel Development Zone, it transpired that trade between Cuba and Vietnam has the potential to reach 500 million dollars by 2022.
