Cuba and Mexico strengthen cooperation on health
Mexico City. – José Ángel Portal, Minister of Public Health of Cuba, held Tuesday a working meeting in Mexico with his counterpart in that country, Jorge Alcocer, aimed at deepening cooperation in the sector.
The parties exchanged information on the advances and novelties of the sector in both countries, and Alcocer highlighted the vocation of Cubans to strive for the vertical elimination of HIV/AIDS.
Portal highlighted Mexico’s dignified and supportive stance in the face of complex scenarios in the region, and he mentioned the training of Mexican health professionals within the 35,000 foreign medical graduates in Cuba.
As part of his working visit to Mexico, Portal will meet with Mexican ministers of Social Security, Security and Social Services for State Workers, in addition to visiting medical institutions.
