Cuba and China sign cooperation agreement on Radio and Television

Havana, Cuba. – The Cuban Institute of Radio and Television, ICRT, and the National Administration of Radio and Television of China, signed in Havana a cooperation agreement to transmit content from both parties in each country.

The text was signed by the president of the ICRT, Alfonso Noya, and the director of the National Administration of Radio and Television of China, Nie Chenxi, who agreed to highlight the cultural and political significance of the agreement.

The ceremony was attended by the member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Cuba and head of its Ideological Department, Victor Gaute, who highlighted the historical relations between the two countries, which, he said, began with the arrival in Havana of the first Chinese emigrants.

Cooperation in this sector began a few years ago when Cuba opted for digital television, thanks to Chinese credit and technical assistance.
An alliance as important as the one we signed with this agreement is an expression of how we are strengthening, strengthening ties with China also in terms of content, ICRT President Alfonso Noya told Radio Reloj.

For her part, Ma Li, director of the International Cooperation Department of the National Administration of Radio and Television of China, referred to the possibility of training Cuban personnel in Chinese facilities, in addition to premiering more audiovisuals produced in our country.

In a symbolic manner, the Chinese side handed the ICRT a drone donated to Cuban television, as well as the original tapes of a group of Chinese audiovisuals to be transmitted here.

At the end of the ceremony, part of the documentary Xi Jinping was premiered, The governance of China, which will be broadcast on national television.
