Contramaestre Says No to Helms Burton Act
A unanimous exclamation of No to Helms Burton!, combatants and officers of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) in Contramaestre expressed during the ceremony of promotion to the highest grade and recognition for the 58th anniversary of the institution, recently carried out in one of the units of the municipal jurisdiction.
Students from the Camilo Cienfuegos Contramaestre Military School marched in honor of the MININT fighters with the national flag and ratified that they are an indissoluble part of the generational relay, which will sustain the achievements of the Cuban Revolution.
In the act of decorations for the 58th anniversary of the MININT in Contramaestre, it was remembered that the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, defined the combatants of the armed institution as an idea and soldiers of the homeland, who will put forward the intransigence in the style of Antonio Maceo, before the also called ” stick law”, reanimated by the ruler Donald Trump.
Among verses, songs and performances by schoolchildren who expressed their admiration for the combatants who guarantee citizen tranquility, they accompanied their representatives and relatives, leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba, the government and MININT in Contramaestre as well as the head of the institution in the province of Santiago de Cuba.
Within the framework of the commemorative activities, several combatants and officers were recognized with the promotion to the next higher rank, and with the medals for Distinguished Service in the confrontation against criminal activity and the support of internal order. In the tribute the presence of the Cuban woman was highlighted as a firm stronghold of the achievements of Socialism.
In the conclusions of the homage activity, Dr. Jorge Luis Fraga Novella, President of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Contramaestre, recognized the long and fruitful trajectory of MININT and he expressed that without this force that comes from the working people it would be impossible to defend everything that the people build day by day.
He recognized that in these times, full of economic and ideological aggression by Yankee imperialism, this armed force is indispensable.
