Contramaestre present in the Pan American Games Lima 2019

Thaimí González, a young Contramaestre athlete who represented us in Water Polo,at the recent Pan American Games in Lima 2019. She talks about her optimism on the future of water polo in Cuba.

“The Polo has had outstanding performances, besides the two fourth places Pan American Games, we got a bronze and a gold in Central America, gold in a cup of Mexico, gold in the SCCAN.

Thaimí never thought of taking Polo so serious. She started to attend Polo classes at the local swimming pool, when she was 10, just for the sake of enjoying water. She just loved synchronized swimming.

Today, when she has become consolidated athlete, she thanks her coach Misael, who helped her to say herself; even though her determination also influenced her in spite of the family disapproval.
