Contramaestre on the anniversary of the Cuban Radio
Radio Grito de Baire, in the Contramestre municipality of the province of Santiago de Cuba joins the celebration of Radio Cubana, which is today’s birthday. For the first time in Cuba, with defined programming, the radio transmissions on August 22, 1922, directed by Luis Casas Romero and through the radio station 2LC.
The history gathers great professionals of the media who passed through and left their imprint on the training of the new generations of radio broadcasters, all dedicated to informing and pleasing the most diverse tastes, and influencing the aesthetic, moral and political formation of our population.

With passion and much love, radio is made today, in Contramaestre and all of Cuba. Whoever comes to the radio will never leave. He immediately awakens a sense of belonging and makes a commitment to the listening public, and experiences an empathy that is difficult to get rid of.
Known names, voices that come to homes, workplaces, cars and bicycles, make up the daily work of each radio station from assessment, speech, journalism, program direction, sound making, assistance and performance, among many other activities.
In spite of the technological novelties, the passing of the years and the changes, the radio will have the incomparable mission of informing, educating, communicating knowledge, values and behaviors and at the same time, entertaining.
Today, Radio Cubana is 97 years old with prominent work in the defense of our ethical and revolutionary principles, as well as our culture and national identity.
