Che’s legacy is needed today more than ever
Havana, Cuba. – Comandante Che Guevara is not only the symbol of the guerrilla struggle in Latin America, he is also a paradigm of nobility, but even more: an intellectual of universal stature, affirmed Ricardo Ronquillo, president of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC).
In the Cuban press tribute to the Heroic Guerrilla, a panel composed of Eduardo Yasell, Jorge Luna and Víctor Pérez Galdós met at the UPEC, who discussed Ernesto’s personality as a photojournalist, commentator and press analyst.
Víctor Drake, Commander of the Rebel Army and Che’s companion in the Congo guerrilla, made a special intervention. He pointed out that there is much to study about Guevara’s intelligentsia and recalled that he was analyzing Carlos Marx’s El Capital, in the middle of the African jungle.
The book How was Che? by José Mayo was also presented, and an exhibition on Guevara was inaugurated.
