Called to optimize in next campaign of cold season sowing
Camagüey, Cuba. – Although the province of Camagüey presents a better assurance of the seeds needed to develop cold season sowing campaigns, it becomes a priority to optimize the implementation of the resources available for the period, said Gustavo Rodriguez, Minister of Agriculture.
During a working meeting with directors of the agency, the head of the branch emphasized the importance of obtaining seeds as the first link in the production chain.
In this regard, and concerning actions to address climate change, he explained how important it is to establish protected seedbeds in tunnels, crop houses and nurseries.
This year, the province plans to plant 12,000 hectares of various crops and vegetables, as well as pastures and fodder, in order to reach 1,000 more than in 2018.
