Announcing measures to ease private work in Cuba
The authorization of the sale to the private workers of surplus production and overfulfillment of the state order is among the new measures announced today, as part of the process of perfecting own-account work in Cuba.
René Hernández, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Planning, explained in a press conference that it will also be possible to sell the resources resulting from the non-execution of the entities.
Such operations will be carried out in both currencies (CUP and CUC), through a bank account, and prices will be established by agreement between the parties, he said.
Another new provision establishes that legal entities, both Cuban and foreign, can contract products and services to non-state forms of management.
In addition, five new activities are approved for private work, unifying and modifying the scope of others.
The powers of the municipal governments are also expanded and some requirements of those who carry out the activity are made more flexible.
According to the authorities, regulations are currently being drafted to allow these adjustments to be implemented.
