Angolan Foreign Minister on his way to Cuba on working visit
Luanda, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) Angolan Foreign Minister Manuel Augusto left for Cuba today for a three-day working visit in preparation for President Joao Lourenzo’s trip.
His objective is to prepare Lourenzo’s next trip to Cuba within the framework of strengthening bilateral friendship and cooperation, the foreign ministry explained in a note.
According to the agenda advanced by diplomatic sources in Luanda, Augusto will arrive tomorrow in Havana and on Wednesday he will begin his activities with a visit to the Casa de África museum, located in the historical center of Old Havana.
Later he will meet with the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca.
On Thursday he will meet his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez, but before that he will be laying a wreath to the Cuban National Hero, José Martí, in Plaza de la Revolución.
He will also have other meetings with government representatives from the Island.
Augusto will arrive in Havana after Vice President of the Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas came to Luanda last April for the 14th session of the Angola-Cuba Intergovernmental Mixed Commission.
The two states maintain links in most economic and social sectors.
