A Revolution Within the Cuban Revolution

Dedicated to the 150 years since the beginning of the independence struggles, to the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, to Vilma Espín and to all young Cuban women, the 10th Congress of the Cuban Women’s Federation (FMC) begins this wednesday in Havana, with 360 delegates and 40 guests.

During this event, four commissions will meet in different institutions of the city, in which the role of the organization and its mobilizing function will be discussed in the context of updating the economic model, gender equality within the family and society, youth as a guarantee of the continuity of the FMC, and the functioning of the organization.

The venues for this first day of the event will be: the Ministry of Agriculture, the Tarará Martyrs National Revolutionary Police Academy, the University of Havana Events Center, the Engineering and Biotechnology Center and the Ñico López Party College.
Meanwhile, on March 7 and 8, the event will take place in the capital’s Convention Palace, in plenary session.

The activities prior to the 10th FMC Congress included the opening of social works, photographic exhibitions dedicated to women, political-cultural galas and the presentation of awards to outstanding workers.
