Cuban Ambassador receives decoration awarded to Raúl Castro Ruz
Beijing, China. – Chinese President Xi Jinping presented Cuban Ambassador Miguel Angel Ramirez with the Friendship Medal, awarded to the first secretary of the Party, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, at the Grand People’s Palace in Beijing, as part of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Raúl is worthy of the award for his contribution and support to the modernization of the socialist cause of the Asian country, to promote exchanges and bilateral cooperation, as well as to safeguard world peace.
The Friendship Medal is part of the recognition system created in 2017 and is the highest honor that the President of China bestows on foreign dignitaries and friends for their merits.
Raúl is one of six international honorees and his selection is considered a ratification of the excellent state of relations between Havana and Beijing.
