Contramaestre Artists Meet Their Premises
Contramaestre, Nov.20.- When 2019 enters its final stage, the cell of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Contramaestre, as an avant-garde organization, founded 23 years ago, maintains its five fixed spaces each month with literary and musical proposals.
During the year, they developed four other events that are essential parts of its cultural activities, and they are getting ready to be the largest rock plaza in the municipality with the eleventh edition of the Rockevolution Festival.
Talking with Arnaldo Sariol, coordinator of the AHS, here we take up again the work of the 17 associates linked to the sessions of scenic arts, literature, music and audiovisual.
“La Casa del Joven Creador en Contramaestre has proposals that start from the fixed space. We have the Café con Cuerda (“Stringed Coffee”), which is made in the Café Cantante (“Song Café”) and which comes from the literature session. There are also the monthly clubs: the Trova club, the Rock Club, the Rap Club, which seek to meet with the public that likes each of these manifestations.
On the other hand, the AHS has different events: the event of young writers “Origins”, which takes place in May every year; this year its 11th edition was dedicated to Eduard Encina; the Jornada Tierra Adentro (“Inland”) in January, the Rockevolution Festival. In August, the first La Bota Rota (“The Broken Boot”) theater event was held, with two guest groups from Santiago de Cuba.
The Rockevolution Festival will take place on December 12-14, for which five bands from other parts of the country and the local band have already confirmed their participation.
In a general sense, the AHS has complied with its annual program, without ignoring some deficiencies that the organization in some cases.
